Our Values "PRIDE: Participation, Respect, Integrity, Determination, Environment" are the foundation for creating an environment where our learners can feel connected and confident. We embrace the Tuakana Teina philosophy through our House and School-wide Ambassador, House Captains and Mediator opportunities, which alongside our learning programmes, actively nurture our younger learners while simultaneously cultivating a sense of working in teams, taking responsibility, growing leadership and community among our senior learners (Matoiahiko). The PB4L approach guides our behavioural expectations within the school. We have a desire to create a sense of Hauoro in all our learners, ensuring they feel connected and confident.

Hi everyone,
We’re pleased to share our whānau survey with you. This is a great opportunity to have your say and share your aspirations for our tamariki—your voice helps guide the future direction of our kura.
The survey includes mostly the same questions as last year, with a few small updates. We are gathering feedback twice this year, and your insights will help shape our Strategic Plan for 2027.
If you have completed it before, we’d really value you taking the time to share your thoughts with us again. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Please click on the link to fill in the survey

TOI Students,
As you continue completing your garments, please send me your final materials list via email to rwilson@ohakune.school.nz by next Friday, the 1st of May.
This will be the final request before I submit the Garment PDFs to the TOI judges. I will be using the first week of May to ensure all files are well-presented and correctly formatted, so no changes will be accepted after this above deadline, as you can appreciate, there has been a lot of interest so it will take me a while to compile and design each submission.
If you have submitted:
then, in my opinion, you will have a stronger chance of being shortlisted and selected by the judges to showcase your garment at the regional event. I will still submit entries that do not include all four components, but please note that the judges have specifically requested all sections be completed.
I will be holding short meetings during break times next week to catch up with TOI participants and ensure I have everything needed to complete each submission. Please listen carefully to the morning notices, as I will be meeting with different groups at different times throughout the week. If one or more members of your group are absent on the day, the remaining group members are required to attend.
Happy crafting and making,
Miss Wilson

Kia ora whānau,
If you have a giant pumpkin growing, please bring it to the school hall on Tuesday 21 April before school.
During the day, our team will weigh and measure all pumpkins to find the biggest, heaviest, and cutest entries.
The new announcement day will be THURSDAY at 2.30pm to celebrate everyone’s hard work.
Please note:
• One pumpkin per participant
• Write your name on the pumpkin
• After the celebration, pumpkins will need to be taken home
Looking forward to seeing all your amazing pumpkins!
Ngā mihi
